The British government has decided not to hold a public inquiry into the murder of Belfast solicitor Pat Finucane.

Pat Finucane was murdered in 1989 in front of his family by the ulster defence association in collaboration with the british government. in 2011 david cameron "apologized" to the Finucane family for the collusion, but the government has refused to open an inquiry into his murder which goes against an agreement made between Ireland and the UK in 2001 and a uk supreme court ruling from 2019.
