_I don't care what it looks like I'm proud. _ Edit: this is my badass tofu dish
Thanks, it is significantly tastier than I thought it would be and I wish I had people to share it with.
you can absolutely fry silken tofu. coat it in a starch first for best effect
boiled tofu is also good tho, you can do it in a veg stock for extra flavour and stuff, make you some tofu stew
:chonky-bear:
theyre both round, green blobbets that come sheathed in a veggie pod. theyre legumes that get used as an ingredient in meals, but also as a crunchy snack food.
the only meaningful difference is the texture and flavour they have. peas are a softer and sweeter blandness, while edamame is firmer with a richer nuttier flavour.
:meow-coffee:
🙄 the difference in texture and flavour is extremely minimal.
go take some raw unseasoned peas and edamame and cook them in the exact same way and then tell me theyre super duper different. they arnt.
because a small difference in texture and flavour of a base ingredient makes a big difference in a finished product.
half a teaspoon of salt vs a whole teaspoon etc. can make a big difference in an end product, depending in what youre cooking
I used cardamom, star anise, Abit of garlic, and a cinnamon sticks as my aromatics. Then just sichuan pepper.
Made a makeshift steam with a bowl in a large pot.
i've just been wok'ing my vegetables lately, damn. It turns out better and greener etc when you blanche first then wok high heat.
It's just boiled silken tofu. Better than you'd expect.
Looks nice! Never tried it that way before, kinda craving five spice tofu rn tho
