    This guy's whole schtick of poetic science nerd wears thin pretty quickly. I also got kind of emotional with one of those videos (don't remember the one, they all sound the same ), but now they feel as honest and meaninful as one of those corporate ads. You know the ones: some inane piano music in the background, images of astronauts, crying newborns, maybe a kid running with a baloon or something and a narrator talking about how life is beautiful and complex and aren't you glad we live in the fucking hellscape that is the 21 century ?(the bg music then becomes louder and a pretty person looks at the camera)

    I guess what I'm trying to say is that his videos come accross as emotionally manipulative to me. Maybe I'm just an asshole though (probably more likely). Sorry for the rant.

      His older videos would cover multiple topics and were interesting, but now to me it seems every video is about how something apocalyptic is about to happen/is happening/will happen, then a bunch of talk about the future of humanity where lots of other epic things will happen and then we all die or the universe goes away or AI take over or whatever. There's no understanding of politics or philosophy so there's nothing deeper about why these things happened. Everything is in the passive voice, where everything just happens without anyone having any agency over it. Its not terrible or anything, but it is repetitive.

      Anyway it seems like he's an abuser so it could just be he thinks he is smarter than he is.

        The video about consciousness (Orange Isn't Real or w/e) had me in the first half, before it devolved into this sort of vagueness. Humanity will eventually crack the Hard Problem of Consciousness because Yes We Can, basically

      That seems like a valid take. Just came across this channel today so I don't have a strong attachment. I enjoyed this video as a sci-fi short, but the essay-type videos I watched did strike me as pseudo-profound.
