I agree with your take.

I don't require anyone to see that movie. Some may dislike the premise and there's valid reasons I'd acknowledge for doing so. Making it into a front in some reactionary culture war (and/or to avenge the honor of St. Nolan of the BWAAAAAM) is sus to me.
