Shit like this is what I miss about managing a local computer repair shop. People would bring in all kinds of wacky old shit like this and put it in our 'ewaste recycling bin' which the dumbass owner just put up when he realized he could get them for free from the city (mind you we were doing mobile and desktop/laptop repair for like 2 years before this and he'd had the previous employees just chuck batteries & whatnot into the garbage bin until I got hired and pointed out that A.) what an incredible fire hazard to have just sitting in the back of this 1940s building with exposed wooden supports on the ceiling and B.) the fucking city gives the recycling bins away for free!!!!)

Anyways I used to rescue so much still-working old shit like this. One of those HP Media Centers with the weird ass Windows Vista Media Center & working remote? Yeah I have that sitting in a closet somewhere waiting to be turned into a Plex machine. A really nice blu-ray/VCR/DVD player and writer? Yeah I took that out of this old lady's hands when she was like "can you recycle this" and went spongebob-party as I brought it to my mother's house so I could transfer our Disney Quest VCR tape from like 2003 to DVD.

Damn I should find another local repair shop to work at...so much good stuff just waiting for me to rescue it....

Sooooo much good shit people toss because they don't know how or don't have the spare parts to fix it, basically doing the equivalent of junking an entire bike because the seat has parts of it torn apart.
