Definitely listen to the Winds of Change podcast for more info about CIA rock music. It's all about The Scorpions and their big hit in europe "Winds of Change"; it also happens to get into some cool stuff about the russian music scene.
Also Abstract Expressionism was 100% a CIA op. I've literally been to langley and seen their extensive collection of Pollacks and had one of their PR drones basically cop to funding that whole art movement to "win the culture war" during the cold war.
They were literally the first music videos. New format yo. Also music peaked in the 80s.
Capitalism didn't win, it merely gained ground.
