Nobody could have predicted this. I have my doubts even when they call it "spying equipment" or whatever considering Chinese claim it was a meteorological balloon, certainly no doubt they would try to paint those tools as such.
This sounds like a weird cope though. This is exactly what I expect the media to say if it actually was spy balloon that managed to acquire some top secret intel.
They now know exactly how many sidewinder missiles it takes to shoot down three balloons
