Glad they can agree on Hitler though.

We should rebrand, just do communism but call it "freedomism" and watch these hogs slop it up.

yeah, im an advocate for aggregated freedoms.

no individual should die of medical neglect, when our society is capable of saving the individuals life.

each of us creates labour, and yet the product of that personal labour is stolen as profit for the shareholders, who collectively do no labour at all. we each deserve the full value of our individual labours!

        freedom intensifies

You joke, but I think a socialist that does a "no labels" branding and didn't hit all of the liberal cultural signifiers, like being pro-gun instead of for fun control and not talking about rural people like they are morons, would do really well.

            you joke

yes, but i also meant this very unironically, in that emphasising the way in which collectivism enables more freedoms for the individual, and cares more about the individual, than individualism, is a very useful way of tilting rightwing folks away from being awful.

            edit: so, yes. agreed. :fidel-si:

Honestly for the American left to gain power we'd probably just need to avoid the words "socialism" and "communism." Sad but true. The guy that jokingly said call our position freedomism was onto something. The Cold War propaganda brainworms are too strong.

Hell we see today that even vaguely leftist Dems get called Communist, so there isn't much avoiding it

Communism's problem isn't marketing. You can't fake class consciousness with the right branding. If over a century of propaganda has inhibited peoples' ability to think critically and receive new information, intentionally lying about what you believe won't reverse that effect.

Eh you're probably right and maybe it's just hopium that some small change will convert a bunch of stubborn assholes to left populism.

Whatever new word would instantly get decried as communist. Look at how these people talk about generic centrist Democrats.
