In his soy videos he talks about having exceptionally high T which is making him go bald. Maybe he's decided to just own it.

Yeah, pretty sure the same thing happened to me. Grew a beard, shaved my head.

I look way better now though, and I never have to worry about the shitty mop of hair I never did anything with anyway.

I would genuinely love to test my T levels lol. I have to know now.

I was basically shaving everyday before as well and just got really bored of doing it.

It's way easier just to keep the beard neat and tidy with a trimmer. Not 100% convinced about beard oils though. They seem like a scam but idk

There is at least one historical figure I can think of who rocked a goatee, can't place my finger on who :thinkin-lenin:

The People's Laptop. Just lower-price durable laptops. The brand has been owned by a number of companies, the current owner is a Chinese company I believe.

        Just lower-price durable laptops.

Also notorious for excellent Linux compatibility, even back in the 00s when that was relatively rare in laptops.

were there more ownership changes than just the one from IBM to Lenovo in 2007-8ish?

I just looked at the Wikipedia page a little while ago. I guess it is Lenovo that is the Chinese company. I had misremembered reading it changed hands more times.

Nice. I guess next time I have to buy one I'll buy that instead of fucking HP, for some reason no HP products function for more than a year.

It's so nice to have user servicable RAM, keyboards, hard drives, wifi cards, and batteries, all in a pretty durable package. Of course, they also have the best keyboard in the business, and they have the MOUSE NIPPLE.

My T60 is still rocking all these years later on lubuntu. It's been dropped off tables, had milk spilt on it, and just generally been through a lot of shit.

I mean... next to a dell from the same era they have a great chance of being a million times prettier. Dell only cleaned up their designs like 2 years ago

Yeah when he throws the thinkpad all I can think about is the poor folks trying to limp one of those along for another 3 years despite it being the slowest thing on the planet.

why won't people give up their thinkpads? they're not that good even back during "the good days"

Most Linux distros and FreeBSD worked out of the box on them back when you might otherwise spend weeks getting everything working. These days it's more unusual to find a laptop that that will take a lot of effort than won't, but Thinkpads got a lot of affection for being the laptop that wasn't more trouble than it was worth for a decade or so.

yeah, back then it was a real dicey prospect trying to run linux or bsd on anything that wasn't a big first party manufacturer

I fucking hate it when youtubers destroy expensive electronics for a bit. Like, just fake it somehow and donate the thing. Having a good personal computer can be life changing to someone who's struggling.

        expensive electronics

You can get an older Thinkpad for $/€ 50 or less, I doubt he hurled an expensive one.

It's a Serious Computer for Doing Serious Work (nevermind the one I had at my last job was a much bigger pain in the ass than a macbook to actually use as a dev machine)
