China’s share of global GDP has increased from 3.6% in 2000 to 17.8% in 2019 and will continue to grow, the CEBR said. It would pass the per capita threshold of $12,536 (£9,215) to become a high-income country by 2023.
absolutely insane

Can you define imperialism? Taiwan also considers themselves the true rulers of China. Are they imperialists too? Are both imperialist at the same time?
Taiwan is definitely imperialist. The indigenous communities (The Ami, Atayal, Bunun, Kanakanavu, Kavalan, Paiwan, Puyuma, Rukai, Saisiyat, Saaroa, Sakizaya, Sediq, Thao, Truku, Tsou, and Yami) didn't flee to the eastern half of the island for no reason, and the country wound up over 70% Han Chinese via processes that weren't friendly to the indigenous communities.
By the way, there's this really cool indigenous, Christian anarchist autonomous community in Taiwan called Smangus. It's crazy how infrequently I hear people talk about Smangus, even in anarchist spaces.
