Cushbomb has talked a lot about the powerlessness of mayors in the U.S., and it's the same in Canada. They are constitutionally "creatures of the province" so there is so little wiggle room.
Has there been any success in bringing down the astronomical rents?
They're apparently down a bit (~5% for a 1BR), but that's apparently mostly due to COVID somehow. So, no.
