The "Schneller Brüter" in Kalkar, NRW, Germany was planned as a breeder-type (different reactor type, cooled with natrium and using plutonium, seems to be high risk, as its hard to keep under control) nuclear power plant. It was finished in 1985, but didnt see usage, due to protests and nuclear havaries around the world leading to a reassessment regarding the risks of the new power plant. It was bought by an investor from the netherlands and converted into an amusement park in 2005. It also includes a museum on the reactor (it is quite good if i remember correctly, been quite some time since i went there).
Its history is quite interesting, i dumbed it down a lot, if you understand german, the wikipedia article on it goes quite in depth, not sure about english infos ..
