    I like to examine the biographies of violent criminals and realize that capitalism is responsibly for at least 80% of them

      Same here. I've known people who moved towards leftism as a result of what they were learning from true crime. It also demonstrates how the system is set up to make this crime occur.

      One of the biggest things for me is how everything true crime related on TV comes from an emotional argument which is what leads most people in favor of the death penalty. It's always talk about how we need to be tougher on crime so the victims can have justice. Never talks about preventing the crimes from occurring again or improving material conditions.

      If you haven’t already seen it, check out I Am A Killer on Netflix.

      It’s a documentary show where each episode is about a different death row inmate with their story told mostly through their perspective.

      Very heartbreaking stuff. The majority of them are sympathetic and it’s awful how much sexual abuse comes up.
