People are still dying, still getting disabled, still getting long-term complications from long covid. The propaganda machine wants everyone to pretend it's over, abandon all visible signs that covid is still a threat, and keep generating profit for the powerful. Please, keep protecting yourselves and your communities. Get vaccinated if you can, wear a KN95 or N95 if you can, if you can't, wear a surgical mask, and if you can't wear a surgical mask wear a cloth one. Avoid large groups of people when possible. Filter your air with a hepa filter if you can. Covid is still causing long-term disabilities and complications and death, even for healthy people. Even taking small measures is better than none.
As a person with disabilities, if you can avoid getting disabled or gaining new disabilities, your quality of life will probably be better. Fashcap is a terrible hellscape to be disabled in. Everyone is treated as disposable in capitalism. The capitalist class will not defend your health, so we have to do our best to defend ourselves. Health is precious and life is short- please protect your health, your life, and your loved ones. You matter.
Socialists going along with the normalization of COVID is one of the clearest signs of liberalism among Western leftists. A global, deadly, disabling pandemic hit, a liberal president normalized it to liberals who said, "I just wanna go to brunch again" and so many Western socialists said, "hey, we do too!"
There's still a pandemic on, folks. Wear masks indoors, limit indoor crowded spaces, and try to organize your events to be accessible and outdoors whenever possible.
Yes. Just because something is normalized doesn't mean it's ok. Just because everyone around you believes something doesn't mean it's true. The media machine is notorious for picking up ongoing atrocities, turning them over, and pretending they're done. They're not done! The pandemic isn't over, and leftists need to be more critical of the media and stand in solidarity with the working class in the face of the mass scale class violence being done against us. Covid-19 is being allowed to ravage the working class, and hurts our comrades of all intersections. It is disproportionately damaging to our bipoc comrades, our unhoused comrades, and our comrades with disabilities, and we should see it as one of the many fronts of the class war, an important front to be active on. We should never go along with the policies of the fashcap deathmill.
I'm still staying a hermit. The way everyone moved on has made public life nearly impossible for me. Immunocompromised due to several diseases and a medication. I watched several relatives die in hospital beds growing up, far too young, because they had similar diseases to me and got what would be a benign infection to most people. Covid is way worse than what killed them. Thank you to everyone who still cares, I wish there was more of us.
