Swedish social democracy blames immigrants for their own disastrous coronavirus response. It's high time US socialists stopped idolizing Sweden.

And here I thought they’d only agreed to exclude the Sverigedemokrater from the government. Such brave bipartisanship against extremism from both ends of the political spectrum, very inspiring.

You joke, but the talking point that the left party are extremists eqvivalent to the sweden democrats (who were openly nazi as lately as the 90s) has been getting more common lately. Which is insane given that they have been in and around government since they split from the succdems because they didn't support the bolsheviks in 1917.

They've never been in government as a coalition, but they've often had the role of making up enough votes for the succdems to be able to form a government. At least the new leader has started to call out the succdems on their bullshit more openly. Sjöstedt was way too cautious about his critisism.

:this: somewhat optimistic but I'll still miss him and the party remains in the same dead-end position

If you're feeling too optimistic, she also said that she prefers Trump over Maduro, "as Trump was democratically elected". Then again, which politician today doesn't have shitty foreign policy.

yikes, I'm gonna hope she's uninformed on Venezuela. But yeah, it shouldn't be that hard to come up with reasonable leftisst foreign policy but politicians rarely care enough here (or most places probably)
