Hello all,
I think there is enough interest in theatre to start up a comm about it. See this post for details as to why it's a good idea:
https://hexbear.net/post/718079
And there's also little enough interest that I think it wouldn't take a lot of modding.
I'd mod, and @climatechangeanxiety said they could be up to mod, but honestly I think modding that sub will be akin to detectives eating donuts on shift for the whole shift. Easy and chill.
The only question is:
Is it theatre, or theater?
In my eyes it's 'Theatre', but I understand if the Americans need to be accommodated with 'Theater'.
But then again most AES States probably say 'Theatre'... but then again the reason they say theatre is because the Spaniards and the French forced the word upon them...
does it matter which way around we do it?
Is it theatre, or theater?
Sidestep this. Call it /c/thestage or /c/greasepaint or something
As an American I vote theatre. I tend to see theatre used for live performances vs theater used for movies. Definitely not a universal rule but seems to be the common usage
Hello! Sorry to be a pain, but how far off is this post from having enough support? Combined with the other post I made (on the askchapo thread), I think there's quite a lot of excitement for it, and is perhaps the sort of thing that could convert a lot of people to become interested in it. I wasn't always a believer in theatre, but after some study of it I've found that it's got some serious radical history and potential in the future. It's a land of praxis too - there's a lot of radical community projects out there that are offshoots of the theatre world.
Thanks
