Trump has apparently talked about creating a new party which would obviously take votes from the Republicans. I said this would be the perfect opportunity for the Left (whoever that is) to actually do something and create their own party worth something. They said they would rather the Democrats just go unchallenged than risk splitting the vote. It's literally driving me insane and honestly disgusting how wedded people are this cult of liberal nihilism.
My roommate said that without the threat of the Republicans, the Democrats would be able to enact "real change, even if it's not as far as you want". Real sicko shit. I know I'm ranting but something has to give here. Like how much more do you need to see that these people are not your friends??
They have to personally be denied something they need or badly want by the Democrats.
That’s pretty much the only way they’re going to care, and it’s also why the best time to start a new party recently would have been Joe Biden being the nominee, but the brunch libs are in control again and it’s too late for now
I think this is it. We just simply don't have the same foundations. We also pay more attention to the actual suffering in the world rather than Jake Tapper being epic on CNN or whatever which is why we always just get shot down as miserable cynics (at least in my case). It just feels like running in water.
I'm less optimistic. I think it will be like every time the US has tried a far right party. It will leech a minority, probably enough to keep a republican party from having majority again or until Trump dies of something called wetgut. Trump is full of surprises, but he has lost his magic since getting brain bleached by coronavirus drugs. Probably won't
I don't think the Dems would let their majority go easily, especially if it means that it would go to a far left party. I'm not surprised that upon giving up their majority, they still want to negotiate with the party they where #resistance against. They will do anything to keep the republicans in power, because that is there roll in empire, kill all internal challenges from the left.
