its in the pressure cooker now. im worried i made it too spicy for my partner. im very exited, i made a new thing with little panicking.
edit UPDATE IT WAS GREAT AND NOT SPICY ENOUGH!!
If it is too spicy, that just provides an excuse to eat it on a baked potato. Win-win
i used impossible ground beef, i know everyone is team tvp all day every day but that stuff makes me gassy if I eat too much. i also used pinto beans and kidney beans
You can boil the TVP in salted water after rehydrating it, give it a squish like a sponge a few times. This will remove the oils that make ya gassy.
OOOH thank you! @Flinch@hexbear.net check this^ a solution to our gas
I also noticed I was very gassy after using tvp I thought it was just me and my fucked up gut, hmmmmm
i made sooo much, so all these recommendations are great!
Oh snap, you just reminded me that I need a pressure cooker.
I have a very small one, but it's not that good, and cooks rice very slowly, for example.
i looove my pressure cooker! i make beans, rice, yogurt, sauces. lots of kitchen appliance are pointless but its really good.
my brother said he was craving chili so I figured i try! ive been cooking for the house a lot its so convenient just to make a big meal now that theres three people in the house too.
I like to add fresh jalapeños to my chili bowl when serving along with some crushed up tortilla chips. Adds a bit of crunch.
Welcome to chili land
LETS GO! I started throwing in a can of adobo chile peppers and a can of hominy corn when it's on sale. Easily 10 meals for about $3 including what I use of bulk goods like spices and oil.
Get Chili-pilled dawg, best food I can make all but from scratch committed to memory.
Try eating it with rice, can really stretch out some meal-prepped chili adding delicious and cheap rice
If ya can spring for it, I highly recommend TEXAS TOAST.
I made chili yesterday! Today i made cornbread to go along :)
