I very cautiously want to point out that part of the motivation for signing the petition may have been to protest the fact that age of consent for heterosexual acts was different than for homosexual acts in France at the time (15 vs 18)
I think there was also the fact that under French law certain gross ass sex acts, like incest, were still legal as long as AOC was maintained. So a father grooming is daughter and sleeping with her was okay as long as she was over AOC. But... yeah it’s a fucking weird ass way to illuminate hypocrisy in Frances sex laws, and considering some certain... rumors about Godard I don’t think his motives were totally pure.
