Hopefully, this will lead to increased prosperity for Bolivia and its people.
Fingers crossed this gives them a little more protection against another US backed coup
Give Bolivia a satellite with kinetic impact weapons. Can’t even see them coming so need to fear a retaliation strike
Yeah, at least, probably for the first time since the fall of the Soviet Union, developing nations don’t have to solely rely on IMF or World Bank loans anymore.
China said that they plan on becoming a fully socialist country by 2050, whatever that means
Honestly no clue, but from what I have read it seems that they are at least rather benevolent in how they deal with countries struggling to repay loans for example instead of tightening the screws, so to speak.
I hope that they are only not out there promoting socialism with Chinese characteristics outright in other countries to first stay somewhat under the radar of the West to not attract even more sanctions and second to let those people come to the correct conclusions on their own terms instead of forcing them on them.
But maybe those are just my lofty fantasies.Maybe China is doing this only to further their own material interests in securing access to vital resources.
We’ll see how this all plays out.
But either way it is IMO a good thing to have other avenues of securing investments and access to outside goods those nations cannot yet provide by themselves especially if those come on terms that more likely resemble some form of mutual interest.
Damn China is going to build a train all the way to Bolivia? That's craaazy.
But seriously, this is good and may help protect Bolivia from more coup attempts, keep chipping away at American hegemony China
