Does anyone have a list of good open source games?
For any chapos checking this post because they can't afford games, pirating them has never been easier and safer. The subr*ddit r/piratedgames has a really good pinned megathread on the topic with a huge list of trusted routes for downloading them
Of course! I didn't really have that in mind when I made the post. FOSS is just privacy friendly while helping the community grow and whatnot
Yeah I totally get you, FOSS is awesome! I wish I knew enough about software to help, it's really cool praxis
also mindustry is actually a lot of fun, sort of a tower defense game with an automation bend
Hell yeah, I've been playing mindustry since the last FOSS game thread, it's good fun if you like tower defense or factorio-esque games.
SuperTuxKart which is a great 3D kart racing game available for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android https://supertuxkart.net
You mean Cube 2: Sauerbraten, right? First time I hear about it but it looks interesting. Thanks!
I always loved Sauerbraten's anti-cheat mechanism. You could hack the engine like swiss cheese, add console commands to kill any player you like, shoot projectiles that only monsters could. Each server had an admin slot which could be claimed if empty. As long as someone cool claimed the slot, they could kickban cheaters.
On the other hand, when people did coop-edit mode, a lot of people would toggle and fuck around because there was nothing at stake.
The pixel dungeon games are great roguelikes on mobile. Shattered Pixel Dungeon is the most popular one.
Red Eclipse a shooting game that has parkour https://www.redeclipse.net/
