They have the pokemon aesthetic down better then a lot of later gen pokemon.
I was only really thinking of the last two gens really. Gen 5 was ten years ago now. It's definately got a more complex design then gen 1-3 would have so yeah 4 or 5 would be a good fit for it.
wow, this is one of the first fakemon I've seen that actually has the 'vibe' of an actual pokemon, remind me of something from gen 5 or 7
I like how Pokémon Uranium just goes balls to the wall in how crazy their fakemon look.
It's somehow a lot easier for irl animals to look just like actual pokemon. Case in point, Aegirocassis or the orange spotted filefish.
