I read Genesis as having two separate creation events for humans - Adam and Eve were created during the second event. Also explains why they can leave the garden and find cities and shit; there were pre-existing human societies that developed after the first creation event.

I like to up the ante and argue that I’m a Christian but don’t take it all literally either, and then proceed to argue that Jesus wasn’t a real person and was actually a metaphor.
