A part of me wonders if perhaps Piers intentionally got Hasan to just keep the discussion in regards to whether he's (Hasan) a propagandist and making stuff up than have a direct discussion about the ethnic cleansing going on, either that or Piers took it really personally to be called a propagandist.

It's funny that Hasan has criticized one or two other people Piers spoke to about what's happening in Gaza, talking about what they should've said, but let himself get bogged down in something arguably trivial.

Also doesn't help that Piers feels like he's got a lib's capability of understanding context; Every time a guest of his tried to give context for what's happening in Israel-Palestine, I look at Piers and I can almost hear the sound of crickets. If you can't given an 'in a nutshell' answer, you're gonna get nowhere with him, and the conflict between Israel and Palestine is complex, insomuch as 'Israel has committed unending cruelty and viciousness in the region and never stopped pretending to be the true victim the whole time' is a simplified understanding of the complex nature of butchery, warmongering, belligerence, terrorism and genocide that led to what Israel is today.

It's easy to criticize while a discussion is happening I guess, less pressure and less in your head

Honestly the best part of the discussion happened at the very end, when Piers asked what could be done about the violence and Hasan suggested that Palestinians should be made full citizens with the right to vote and the Palestinians who'd been forced out given the right to return and Piers quickly dodged the question with a half-hearted "if it was as simple as that I'm sure it would've happened already". God I wish Hasan had gotten on him for that; Piers invites people to ask them what can be done, and when an entirely reasonable suggestion is made, it ISN'T discussed, just handwaved away!

Piers made it look like he's up for discussions, but immediately dodged that with a stupid response rather than have a serious discussion about it; I deeply wish Hasan hadn't let himself get bogged down for so much of the conversation, and frankly I don't even believe Piers had to end it there, I'm 90% convinced he didn't want to be grilled about this.

Every Jewish person on the planet has been given the right to return to Israel, so why not allow Palestinians the same right? Literally what difference would it make what their nationality or religion is? God I really wish he'd pushed him on this. I've a feeling Piers would've 'realized' he only has a whole two minutes for his show if he'd been forced to address it early.
