          this is literal misinformation

except it's not. "identify as gazan" means effectively being an anti war protester in this context. They simply expressed the underlying meaning of his implication instead of translating his words literally. It would be like if a mob boss said in a different language "nice place, be a shame if something happened to it." and I translated that into another language as "I am threatening you." because-of-the-implication

His reasoning is the police can’t deal with large gatherings/protest during the conflict and that they aren’t being lenient about it.

Seems far removed to me from literally forcibly bussing anti-war protesters to a war zone.

      Pick one, bootlicker. bootlicker

Yeah I agree the "paraphrasing" that some media outlets do is pretty stupid if they don't mention that it isn't an actual direct quote. I think it is good that they try to boil down a politician's statement to what their intention is, like making it clear that this guy is essentially threatening to kill people who aren't warmongers, but they should have that be alongside the original quote as an explainer, not pretend he directly said that. I feel like I see this a lot these days especially on Twitter. I would rather just see the actual video clips of them speaking with an explanation.

And yeah, people on Hexbear are getting a bit antsy I think.
