High Speed 2 (HS2) is the British government's high speed rail "initiative". Obviously, it will probably become a cash funnel to Tory donors, and will probably be delayed long after the already far-off completion date (2030s), but if we ignore that, what do you think about the current plan? Are these good routes? And what do you think about environmentalist resistance to the plan?

    I'm not sure we should be encouraging more travel to/from Leeds.

    (Train Good, and will be needed as driving and flying becomes curtailed due to climate change. Environmentalists have a point but those points could be resolved fairly easily by not having Tories anywhere near the project.)
