Mr. McCarthy's original election was illegitimate, as has been acknowledged by a large part of the international community. I am fully able and willing to assume the office of house speaker on an interim basis to call for free and fair elections.

Also, should be noted, he was also majority leader of the National Assembly, which I believe is somewhat analogous to Speaker of the House. So he has experience. I only remember that because that was the reasoning for him to be "interim president" because I believe it was next in presidential line of succession after the vice president (who was also supposedly illegitimate due to "voting irregularities").
