Got an idea from a website to substitute meat for apple slices when making sandwiches and it works like a dream. The sweetness actually goes very well with everything else.
No potential Crohn’s flare-ups, no afterlunch bloatedness and lethargy, no problems. Easy to make in a rush, too, though having time to heat it up via stove or panini press makes it all the better. Should also work with vegan cheese just fine, which I’ll try.
I like all manner of sweet, so it was only natural that I liked it. That said, the succulent taste of the apple really goes with the melted cheese and onions.
