I’ve never seen it out in the wild, yet I see breadtube devote hours to his content. I come from a very conservative family and they’re mostly just parroting a mixture of Fox News, AM radio, and Facebook memes. With the younger crowd it seems it’s just joe rogan or Peterson. Seems most of you tube punditry is one giant human centipede.
Also does anyone know a decent daily news show?
Rubin, no. But my partner's 50-something year old uncle listens to Crowder and constantly regurgitates his jokes. He'll repeat them two or even three times in a night if noone hears or laughs.
My brother who's like a young-millennial does. I can hear him watch it as part of his social media usage, seemingly just clips and stuff. He's hip enough to know AM radio and corporate news is lame, but not enough to see how bullshit the fake-indie right-wing press is. I imagine he watched Tim Pool as well.
Had a coworker that watched Crowder. He was the young, online, alt-lite type - definitely into Rogan as well.
I get Crowder, he's perfect for the “attack helicopter” kind of people. But who THE FUCK watches Ben Sabibo?
Dumb people who need hard to tackle arguments to own the libs with.
I overheard a right-winger talking to an employee at a bookshop talking about the decline of civility & shit. He actually cited William F. Buckley as a paragon of public decency. I interrupted to remind him of the time he used homophobic slurs and threatened to punch Gore Vidal on national television. He said, hm, I didn't know that, and went back to talking to the employee. She nodded along to his next several pontifications, and then said "I listen to Dave Rubin, who is on the left but at least he has guests from both sides." I fled.
The insane elderly woman who lives in my building and believes COVID is a hoax recommended Dave Rubin to me
if his fan base is made of people who try to keep a conversation going with telemarketers because of loneliness, his appeal makes sense to me. hes just so soft-spoken and non-confrontational.
this is an angle I hadn't thought about.
one coworker i had was a huge listener of crowder and benny shapiro. when he got comfortable with me he started sending me his weird memes he finds too, turns out he was a big fan of paul joseph watson as well. i never was open about my politics at all, besides saying one time that expensive electric cars aren't going to end climate change
One of my good friends from high school became a mega chud a few years after graduating and he loves Crowder. Even has the stupid ass mug and everything. His politics are boiled down to “I don’t care as long as lefty’s get triggered,” so it makes sense.
A coworker is a barstool sports guy, and he is literally the biggest man child I have ever met. Like how do you still have a job? Or have friends?
when i was younger and was falling into the pipeline I watched both. luckily I don't anymore but there's an audience
