I haven’t finished the book yet. But god people really do see you supporting Animal Liberation and just taking that to be an attack on caring for other issues like race, gender etc. People genuinely believe that animal issues are a lower priority because they’re “animals”. I used to too! But I fear vegan voices are going to be silenced and isolated into our own comm here and advocating for it outside will be seen as “brigading”. How do we educate people that comparing animal torture and mass murder to other oppressions is not denouncing or demeaning the other oppressions?

The vegans on here are not white PMC liberals so don’t treat us like that. We are comrades on an explicitly communist website for fucks sake.

Sorry for all comrades that got sucked into the the struggle sessions. They seemed pretty miserable. Sadly (or happily) I was offline when they happened.

Remember that cognitive dissonance is a thing, and people will say shitty things to free themselves off the moral burden. You're right, stay strong, we will fucking win this.

We are not putting slavery and the meat industry on a scale and seeing which one weighs more.

We are using existing language to describe a very similar system of treatment to a different conscious being that we believe to have a moral weight any amount greater than being a tasty burger for us.
