Magic is officially dead in my eyes, they've started doing crossovers with shit like The Walking Dead, Warhammer, and Lord of the Rings. These aren't alternate versions of normal magic cards, or silver-bordered cards, but full-on legal cards with legolas or whatever the fuck. Legal in all eternal formats.

In a few years Shrek is going to equip Captain America's shield and attack Gandalf the planeswalker.

It's really transparent that at this point anyone who actually cared about designing and maintaining the game have been completely overridden by shareholders and marketing and shit (which shouldn't be a surprise to people on this site).

If you want to play, just fully 100% proxy everything, but the game is literally changing forever with the inclusion of these 3rd party universe cards.

I mean no not really you can’t get any decent money from a magic card unless it’s on the reserve list and try selling a fake card on the reserve list see what happens. You can get Chinese printed cards for less than a dollar so no wonder wizards of the coast people are losing their jobs left and right. This shit is almost impossible to monetize in a digital world. That’s why they want people to play arena but why would anyone waste their money and time when you can build literally any deck on cockatrice.

I loved this game as a kid, going to flea markets and getting 500 cards for 5$

Did a similar thing in college, a group of us pooled like $20 each and bought a massive pool of cards off ebay like 2000, and we used just those to make decks and duel each other while drinking. Great times

When you think about it, CCGs were the original pay-to-win games with lootbox mechanics
