As I said before this is an unsafe site for Indigenous people. I’m out. Don’t bother DMing me. I’m scrambling my password and locking myself out of my own account. I’ve grown to care for and trust a lot of you so it’s hard to leave but it is clear that this site isn’t for me. I understand that the world and internet at large is really shitty to vegans so I understand and support the need for a safe space to process your experiences and to practice your dunks. All the best, signing off.
Reposted here since it is invisible where I first posted it. https://hexbear.net/post/94432
I commented the same in the first thread that the OP then reposted here.
If everyone in this thread is going to act as if all the vegans on this site are ruthlessly attacking indigenous people, there should be a comment stating the actual view shared by posters here and on c/vegan.
This really isn’t the best place to try to make this argument. Please take it to another comm. You are dismissing the viewpoints of PoC in the comm, which is part of the issue OP is complaining about.
If it's the same post about people who are critical of the cruelty issues with traditions, I don't really see why the same comment would be appropriate in one community but not the next.
But apologies, I'll stop commenting here. I just noticed this post on my main feed, did not realize it was supposed to be a space free from defenses for the ideologies being strawmanned.
I am, but I am not indigenous. If my comments inspired fear in anyone please let me know.
That's even worse
