As communists we should never defend the EU as it is a tool for neoliberalism, but we should also be cautions on exiting it, seen as many countries, mostly southern european ones, would be even worst off outside than inside, mostly for monetary and economical reasons, which would mean even more austerity if not under a leftist government.
As for an Hypotetical disbandment I don't think we should be worried yet considering that for many countries it is still usefull for their growth, but as soon as this changes we'll see a lot more euroskepticism even from the libs
This is key. Had Greece not been in the EU, SYRIZA's reforms would have almost definitely been vastly more comprehensive without the Euro, SGP and German banks being held over them.

Definitely, but they would have been able to do more than they did and at least averted the terrible collapse there.
