Christianity as a term and as a concept was literally invented by Constantine to describe the state ideology of Rome. Jesus H. Christ himself never used the terms Christian or Christianity. That was Constantine. The gnostic cults around Christ were co-opted by Constantine to legitimize his own rule. Why would anyone use such a term to describe himself?
