LMAO yeah. The Nexus and Pixel phones are supposed to be "developer phones," so they allow you to unlock the bootloader and flash new firmware without needing any hacks or exploits (or even a functional OS on the phone). For the same reason, they're very difficult to permanently brick. They're ideal for running LineageOS or other third party firmwares. Just MAKE SURE there is a LineageOS build for whatever model you pick before buying it.

        Haha yeah thanks

The pixel 4a seems like the one I'd probably get, there's a third-party offshoot of LineageOS for it, which seems like just asking for trouble, but it has CalyxOS or GrapheneOS which seem fine and actually more privacy focused from my very limited understanding? I dunno, I don't even need it to do anything fancy as long as it works, I just want to not be spied on so much please

I hate giving money to google but I hate giving them my data even more

You could get one secondhand. Not perfect but better
