Holy fuck I am so hyped this is like The Second Coming
Rome: Total War is like childhood distilled. Played countless hours of that game. Some of the soundtrack still plays in my head randomly. Very excited to try this remastered version!
i don't want to get too excited, but it looks pretty frickin cool. i wonder if its on the same engine/what's going on under the hood tho
wait april is next month this literally comes out next month :che-poggers:
i watched 30 seconds of a dude streaming it and he said 'goddamn rome pathfinding' some things never change lmao
ooo i loved Rome but idk if it can be better than the new ones with the same bozo ass pathing - literally walking through a huge open area of a city and having 10 guys stuck on an invisible wall motionless, stopping the whole unit from moving along.
Really curious how much they're remastering, I remember Rome fondly but playing it these days is clunky and a pain, at least compared to the culmination of Total War game design that is TW2

Here's the FAQ
bruh they said 'new factions' but i'm pretty frickin sure none of the ones on the FAQ are new?
I noticed that too, but if memory serves only a few factions were playable in the original without mods so i am assuming all factions are playable out of the gate
Aaaahhh
Does anyone remember the Rome Total Realism mod? Way more provinces - even city states, one Rome, realistic units, lower damage, designed for use of fast forward
I was a big fan of Europa Barbarorum--everybody's a barbarian to someone!--a great way to learn about modern archaeology.
i remember reading the giant manual that came with that game (when paper manuals were expected) at recess at school like a fuckin nerd. awesome game though no regrets
Holy shit I was literally playing Rome Total War like a week ago, that's awesome.
Anyone got an archive link to that FAQ? I'd like to get hyped but the link to it I'm seeing is dead for some reason.
Thanks. It worked now, not sure why I couldn't get it before.
