Iirc when the bush admin (or was it Clinton?) made a denuclearization deal with the dprk, the dprk started following their terms of the deal but just kinda stopped after not too long cause the US want doing shit. I think one of the first things that was supposed to happen was a US embassy in Pyongyang, but they didn't do anything except talk shit about how the dprk didn't shut everything down day 1.
Yeah that sounds about right. Nevertheless, from a Korean perspective, the US loves to make deals and have no intention of keeping them. I'm sure this wasnt news or any thing.
“Trump was too friendly to Kim and that’s bad because it gives them legitimacy”
I do not get this argument.
While I would not really call myself a supporter of North Korea (do not get me wrong, I do not think they are some threat to Earth or that they should be attacked), they have had the same government since 1948 and Kim Jong-un is the recognized head of government.
Simply put, they are legitimate and the same people who complain about this are not as vocal with the United States having allies that do just as bad, if not worse, actions, such as Saudi Arabia.
