On one hand it’s a monument to excess and greed and so on... But a city in the middle of the desert full of gimmicky buildings and vice set up by the mafia is pretty pog irl lore.
Eh, I don't know New York feels like more of a monument to excess and greed. Bunch of PMC's who think they're more valuable than they really are. At least Vegas has buffets and sports betting which is fun.
Same, I lived there a couple years ago and it was neat. Mostly because of the pretty things in proximity and not bc of the casinos, to be fair.
Walking down the Strip feels like walking on an alien planet. I say anyone who has the opportunity should visit at least once just to people watch.
I've gone there for a few events, but I only had to gamble once or twice to realize that it's just not my scene. I wouldn't mind putting money on cards with friends, because the whole point of that is that you're hanging out with people, but the way it goes in Vegas is just like being hooked up to a vacuum that sucks all of your money out.
There's lots of cool shows though. I love going to see magicians especially.
I only went once and it was raining and overcast the whole time, and I credit that small intrusion of natural reality for keeping my brain intact over that few days.
I like gambling, but not betting actually money, so I'd probably hate it.
Imagine Las Vegas after the coming revolution. A city built in the desert for partying and entertainment, but it's communist and egalitarian.
