Saddam Hussein’s “ties to Al Qaeda” and "Weapons of Mass Destruction were used to manufacture consent for the 2003 invasion. There was no evidence for Hussein having ties to Al Qaeda, and Iraq had destroyed all major stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction and ceased production in 1991 when sanctions were imposed.
