This phrase rings like a bell in my circles every time the topic of humanitarian ceasefire comes up, and it effectively stonewalls the conversation. Just a point of frustration that I have no real place to ventilate.
Other bangers include:
- Israel can't trust the Palestinians, they've never been given a reason to do so.
- Hamas wants to make Israel not exist.
- So you equate Israel now to Nazis during WW2? (while talking about the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising)
- Hamas takes drugs and ...

rapes corpses of women and children.
Hard to be interested in engaging after reading that last one, but no one else is going to bring the missing half of the conversation.
I've framed it thusly: If someone is offered a bad deal, I point out how there's no reason to take said deal simply for having been made an offer, like it's literally beyond these liberals imaginations that negotiating is a haggling match and leverage must be offered and counteroffered, especially when it comes to international diplomacy. All western liberals know is eat hot chip, bully poorer weaker nations and lie.
there is no such thing as anyone having interests or benefiting from things, it's all just vibes
that's because libs genuinely think negotiation is when you get everything you want and the other side just fucks off home. because they're the good guys, therefore they want good things. and the other side must necessarily be the bad guys, so they only want bad things. so you dont need to understand them, or offer anything.
