I love that I chose STEM because it's not political. I hate having politics shoved in my face and being forced to be part of politics. I just look for solutions to problems, I'm a problem-solver.
I'm a physics major and every day I pray that I don't become another Einstein...
Hey just because I design screws for Lockheed Martin doesn't mean I don't support human rights.
I support human rights for the children that Saddam pulled from the incubators
Geology / biology > physics for solving problems. Physics is largely reducing math to things which have already been solved, which is totally valid & necessary. But I think it's why so much of the files seems reactionary. Rather than challenging assumptions about the world the mindset is all about reducing them to what has worked before.
They also mention that the 3,000 drone swarm in China was this and not a military exercise.
The only military drones I've seen from China are more typical cruise missile style ones that fly low and can be launched from a truck.
Imagine the cool and useful stuff they could have spent the time and resources inventing instead of swarms of autonomous flying killer robots
:deeper-sadness:
First thing that came to mind. A mini Black Mirror episode hitting just close enough to home.
Hmmm yes. But I demand that I still be considered almost clever.
