I always enjoyed 24, it’s pretty useful. There’s 24 hours in a day. It’s divisible by 1,2,3,4,6,8,12, and itself so it’s very versatile and there are 1024 bytes in one kilobyte etc.

  • I’m extremely cross faded at the moment, but I have absolutely no idea what’s going to happen. I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if in 10-20 years far right radicals have used American weapons left over from the war to take over the Ukrainian government.

This isn’t a prediction or anything, just speculation.

I shudder to think what Russia will look like in 20 years. I could see Ukraine and the areas around it destabilizing like the Middle East and Russia just being cut off from the rest of the world like NK or Cuba but on an absurd scale. I feel so bad for the people of Russia and Ukraine. They’re full of so many great, honest, hard working people whose lives are getting torn apart by the actions of the State.

I honestly don’t know where we go from here. What superpower are we going after next? The world is only so big.

  • I was once getting my car towed and made some funny small talk with the driver. Apparently he believed that when they fired the first rocket into space it popped a hole in the ozone layer and this hole is what is causing global warming. He said the reason they have to wait for certain times to launch rockets is so they can do it when the hole passes overhead so they don't make another one.

Okay so this is a little late but I tried translating the cuneiform myself and this is what I got:

    73 A dog entered a tavern

    74 "My eyes cannot see"

75 "I will open this later"

It doesn't really make any more sense but when I see Sumerian stuff around the net I like to translate it myself to see if I get something similar.

  • A revolution doesn't have to be big and flashy. In today's capitalist hellscape, giving money to a homeless person is a revolutionary act. At least for now there's various ways to check out of society as much as possible. Pretty soon I'm going to start doing experiments with reducing my reliance on the grid. At least until something larger inevitably happens, if we try to reduce our consumption and work together, we can each do a little bit to make everyone's lives less shitty.

  • I once asked my Grandpa about the Cuban Missile Crisis for history class and apparently it scared him so bad he said he didn't want to talk about it. After the US's response to the Covid pandemic it got me wondering how much worse he would have felt if in 1962, someone from the Kennedy administration had gone on television with charts and graphs explaining that if Cuba launched nuclear missiles at the US it would only kill ~2 million people so everyone should just go on as normal.
