The "live, laugh, love" pillow is a nice touch. I wouldn't mind this kind of poltergeist in my house...as long as they make good design choices.
I can understand why the government would want to do away with the colonial language. It's a reminder of a dark time. However, the decision of what the official language(s) should be can lead to some tricky politics. If one local language is elevated, it gives an advantage to those who grew up speaking it. This is especially hard for minority languages from indigenous peoples.
An example of this is in Botswana, where I'm currently living. The Tswana people came up from South Africa and displaced indigenous populations like the San and Herero. After independence in 1966 from being a British protectorate, they made English the official language and Setswana the national language. English is used in education and government, but everyone is also expected to learn Setswana to function in society. For those who didn't grow up speaking Setswana or who don't learn it, it's harder or impossible to get good healthcare or a good job.
Language politics can get really messy when there are lots of local languages. I worry about what might happen as a result of this decision.
Yes! I wholeheartedly agree with you. There are pieces of GNOME I wish I could bring into KDE, and vice versa.
I've been running Nobara on my Surface Pro 4, which is based on Fedora. It comes with all the surface drivers built in, which really helps. It's been working pretty well for me.
Sleek is a great way to describe GNOME. It's really pretty and slick, and I was sure happy with how it worked. Plus, with all my google accounts hooked into GNOME, Evolution just pulled all that info and gave me real easy access to my mail. I wish KMail did the same thing.
Thank goodness. I could really use this for my laptop.
I was using Thunderbird when I switched to Fedora, but then I found out about Evolution. If you use GNOME, I think it's much better.
I freaking love Apocalypse World. It's one of my favorite systems by far. The world has so much potential to be as expansive as you'd like, and can fluidly adjust to the players actions. I've been running a game for a while (which is currently on hiatus because I have a new baby), and it's a blast.
Strong Tiffany Aching energy.
Thank God I'm not the only one who does this. I want to eat all the yolk, thank you very much. The stuff left on the plate is a waste.
Way to use Sam and Max to make this meme. Based.
Just finished watching these matches, and as someone who's played a good amount of SSB64, that was INCREDIBLE. Such top notch playing from start to finish. Thanks for sharing this.
What the hell are you talking about? We live in the Disc, held up by the Four Elephants which stand on the back of the Great Atuin, a 10,000 mile long turtle. The turtle moves.
I just wanted to tell you how happy I was to see the Netscape logo as your icon. Brought me back to the old days of the internet.
To anyone who objects to this meme, keep your forked tongue behind your teeth.
