I famously did my work study while developing a coke habit and flunking out of my program. Did a very good job at my work study duties though
Middle management is largely bullshit, but bullshit is not the same as low-effort. Graeber saws that corporate lawyers tend to identify their jobs as bullshit, but their subcategory is goons. The only reason a corporation needs an army of lawyers is to defend against other corporations’ armies of lawyers. There’s still plenty of work to be done. It’s just not work that’s fundamental to the functioning of society
Bullshit job haver here. I got hired by a local business whose management style is best described as chaotic neutral. I overachieved automating parts of my job via spreadsheet macros and showed them off to the right people and when my manager’s position opened up (our departments were always shuffling around because we were growing like mad) I was the only one left in department. By the end of the pandemic, I had automated away the entire job without telling anyone and worked just enough to keep up the act. Oddly enough, I was in constant stress between my life having no purpose and being under constant stress of feeling like I’m gonna get found out and fired. If I didn’t have a few recurring meetings each week, I could have died and no one would have noticed
It was helpful that you did answer every option. People only responding to the ones they agree with just puts all of them at 100%
I don’t think it was one of us. After the poll was locked, a couple of them said “kek” and called me a janny. About shows you who we’re dealing with
:this:
The only other site that has pronouns next to names is LinkdIn and they only show you other people’s pronouns if yours are set, like some kind of weird gender dog whistle
No, 47 people rated the “negative” option. On average, they only agreed with it 2.4%
Starbucks did it. It’s very much on the table. But if they got this far they likely have a strike fund and will continue organizing and collaborating with other stores

His father was an alcoholic. Being sober doesn’t make you unlearn that dysfunction on its own. Just makes it manifest in other ways
This isn’t even close to rock bottom. We can already see what institutions with little to no oversight do with kids. Foster kids end up as child slaves in “theraputic” homes. Children with intellectual disabilities… well I highly discourage anyone from googling “Willowbrook State School” if they wanna sleep tonight, but I could definitely see care deteriorating to that level again. Need I mention ICE detention camps or residential schools? They’ll be murdering and burying children before this is done. Hell, for all we know, they’re already doing it.
Still, very positive feedback. I made a point of leaving any votes up for people who didn’t spam slurs, so I expected some good faith annoyances or indifference as well as some smarter trolls to just vote all 0’s and move on. But it was almost universally good
@viva_la_juche your worries we’re correct. The poll was brigaded almost immediately
I don't think @dessalines checks this account anymore, but this voting app was coded by him and I have the same feedback re: websockets as I do with Lemmy. Live vote updates are the smoothest experience in the entire fucking world. Automatic list reordering is frustrating
People are supposed to be able to add options to rate, yeah. Allowing feedback. I'm cleaning up reactionary stuff as it comes
We cannot, sorry. The page doesn't have a way to ban people without providing a whitelist of usernames
just as he assembled such a coalition to win during the 2020 campaign
I remember that coalition. Biden was polling in the single digits for months. Then everyone dropped out and endorsed him right before Super Tuesday. Within the span of a month (February 11th-March 13th), Sanders went from a front runner to a non-entity and a state of national emergency had been declared. Sanders endorsed Biden a month later under the assumption that conceding and endorsing Biden would save voters from contracting the virus at the polls and that Biden would improve on Trump's genocidal covid response. Biden proceeded to half ass his Covid response too. And also he took away the stimulus checks.
A lot of time, too. One of the first things they mentioned was “you shouldn’t have banned me”. They were one of the first people in the poll. Literally refreshing the page often enough to see a newly featured post
