Authorial intent on how to make the gig economy even more ghoulish.:
DO NOT READ IF YOU BELIEVE IN DEATH OF THE AUTHOR AND WANT TO RETAIN IMMERSION IN MY BEAUTIFULLY CRAFTED FICTION
Realtime gigs - This is basically a two-tier system for how gigs are listed. Gig prices are determined by a stock-like bidding system, but certain services get the benefit of automated bidders working on your behalf whereas other people would have to enter bids manually. It's like the difference between manually day trading as an individual and day trading as a super computer, except it's a race to the bottom for how much a gig pays
Sponsored interviews - More or less what it sounds like. You either pay for the privilege to attend an interview or your interview has some sort of product placement in it.
Crowdsourced lifestyles - This is actually already happening. It gives people the ability to "democratize" arbitrary consumption choices about their life. What am I going to have for breakfast? What am I going to wear today? It's all up to the highest bidder! Or possible up to a vote from all my sponsors
Premium-tier consumables - VIP line at the grocery store, coupons for utilities, ability to buy clean water during rationing shortages, reduced processing fees at restaurants, "one-swipe checkout", etc
