  • Here’s the thing. I knew I wasn’t gonna stop posting. But I get very frustrated by the self-image of online leftists being so defeatist and nihilistic. And it makes it worse when I’ve put in work to overcome that and get it projected back onto me.

I dedicate a sizable amount of time to organizing. It is so meaningful and fulfilling. It’s also frustrating and boring sometimes. But it lets me sleep at night and I no longer feel guilty for not keeping up on every scrap of news that gets circulated on Twitter. Because my worth as a member of this movement is not wrapped up in my media consumption.

  • I know several upper middle class preppers with Gadsden tattoos who will fully acknowledge that they got lucky getting into the line of work they did and making as much money as they do, but then when they talk about their prepping, it’s every man for himself and all about the hard work they’ve put in to earn the money for these supplies. The cognitive dissonance is real and the most antisocial of them are just gathering supplies for their neighbors anyway.

  • Nah a lot of us became leftists. Easy to forget that a big talking point for Ron Paul was ending all the wars. He wanted to dismantle the US empire. Of course he wanted to do this for financial reasons and is now a gold grifter with a talk radio show but at the time, no one had been allowed to publicly question American military dominance in a long time

I think all the time about the part about housing where the houses were built cheaply and made their tenants sick, so they’d get nearly done with a rent-to-own scheme and be evicted due to their inability to work from that illness. Reminds me of when I lived in a trailer park. Those landlords were the most predatory I’ve ever had
