    In case the link's down

    Here's an idea:

    1. Destroy your census form.
    2. Wait for them to contact you about not having sent it off and claim it must have been lost in the mail.
    3. Wait for them to send you another form.
    4. Fill the form out with the most obscure answers you can think of - including Jedi - and post it.

Now all this will not really cause much hassle to the government, but if you hate them as much as I do you'll take the view that every little helps and each act of resistance is worthwhile and can be an individualist end in itself. Above all it'll make you feel good, kind of like when you send heavy things to freepost addresses. Abuse the force.

What I don't recommend is adopting the moral high ground and refusing to comply with the census. They'll force you to pay the £1000 fine eventually, and that money will just be spent on more censuses, DNA databases, CCTV, GCHQ wiretaps and other intrusions of our privacy.

Thanks! I tried the New Left Review. Fluent pulled the top paragraph but nothing else. Switched to "load full content", got an error screen ("memory parse error"). Switched to "webpage", got nothing :) However, the New Republic actually works! Can do text only, full content, and webpage. Some articles are still a bit janky on Load Full Content ("Parallax Ghazal", "So Far").

Gonna see if it'll handle a HistoryMarche youtube sub, might actually switch if so

Edit: So I found the magic line is

    https://www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?channel_id=

which, with the channel IDs from Comment Picker (for HistoryMarche, that's UC8MX9ECowgDMTOnFTE8EUJw ), actually added the channel to Fluent! Nice. Though it needed to be full webpage, rather than Load Content. Which had the unfortunate side effect of reintroducing Google's pop-ups... and the ads. Usually caught by Firefox's Enhancer for YouTube add-on.

I ride it out. Play video games. If my body doesn't want to sleep, no sleep. Usually fall asleep on the beanbag in front of the monitor by 2-3am, catch up the next night.

As a kid my parents would drug me if I complained about insomnia.

I installed QuiteRSS (Win 10) and subscribed to the Pussy Riot feed. However clicking the video ("On ABC...", also tried "We've seen authoritarian tendencies...") crashes the app. QuiteRSS also forgets all subscriptions after crashing. App also looks a bit shit (sorry).

"We know it's subversive when corps refuse to profit from it, let alone recuperate it".

Capital could profit from the burnt-out police station, because it fit into A: the marketable, confected category of Violent Anarchism, and B: destroying a state service, that while highly privatized, is still one of the few (nominal) public services run by the state.

Thinking of a candidate, there's a lot of "corps bad but - wouldn't ya know - there's no Simple Solution!" art. What jumps to mind is the shelf-removal of twin tower souvenirs following 9/11. Wasn't there an artist on here who painted investment bank infernos?

Scrap the prefigured blowing up of executive government/assassination of media barons. Just casually depict the capital-media class shoved into acid tanks, the flesh bubbling off their bones. To refer to, er, ocean acidification.

  • Prep work & level design. Players should be able to front-load stealth, and be confident in the payoff. Like doping the soup pot. Currently stealth prep is a janky afterthought. Rather prep should come first, with the sneak being the back-up and prone to fail (trade-off for not prepping). I think the idea of planning a heist is appealing, not just sneaking one off that the game delivers to you.

Social network size and quality is class mediated, too. The upper class has the most opportunities to effortlessly meet relatable people with shared interests. Making a friend is tough if your job doesn't give you in-work freedom or leisure time. School is a crapshoot, since you share age and geography but little else; university filters for academic field, & so on.

Why does that happen? I know why features are cut near release, but so many? Feels like a Daggerfall-style game, brimming with features, many half-baked but forgiven due to ambition, can only come from indies. Seems there's a law where big studio attempts end at glitzy, fragile open worlds, with the bugs but without the ambition
