I sporadically make music, but suffer from adhd and severe depression so I have never been consistent. Studied a bit of theory in college and played in a bar band. I tried to play jazz guitar for a while, but lacked discipline and good habits, and don't have a great ear. Then for a while I just wrote folky songs on guitar, banjo and mandolin traveled around and did a lot of busking for a while. Joined and quit a few bands on different instruments. Most recently played bass in a hardcore punk band until I quit due to social anxiety-- most of our shows involved hanging around for hours waiting to play. A few times a year I write and record a song, usually after taking drugs, and then no-one ever hears it. Sort of half taught myself drums recently. I basically just noodle over loops on guitar and play with effects pedals a few times a week, it's pretty lame.

  • lmao a lib cousin of mine told me she "sort of feels bad for Pfizer" because their shit vaccine will hopefully be replaced with something better before they can make billions from peoples misery again. I want to pull my fucking hair out. YOU FEEL BAD FOR PFIZER WHAT THE FUCK. That is lib brain. Don't try to make sense of it.

  • I was once exploring an abandoned train station in an extremely poor area of a city in the US. Came up to a hallway and there was a little room turned hovel complete with broken glass collages, pictures with peoples faces scratched out, human shit and needles all over and children's clothing strewn around.

Whenever you're ready, just try loving yourself for a few seconds. You can do it, anyone can it's an awesome part of consciousness. It can feel bad getting past the first mental block but then once you know you can do it, it's just a matter of practicing. Of course we all want other people to love us, but you can't make them. You can literally make yourself give yourself love.

Tell you what, I'll do it tomorrow if you give it a shot. I've been neglecting this practice and I think I can use it myself.

What have you been doing? For sandwiches, grilled wraps, I like to put them on like 3 and roll them around on an oiled cast iron. You can also change up the bread you use/ start baking. NYT no kneed recipe is great, it's like faux sourdough. Stop eating cold cuts if you do that, bc they are gross, bake tofu or chicken breasts for the week. Mayo on one side, mustard on the other, horseradish to taste. Grow some sprouts. burritos-refried beans+can of green chilis +rice+cheese, if you have time you can put them in cold and grill, or heat everything up in a mush and then wrap. My pasta go-tos are butter salt and pepper with some parm thrown in. You can also do all of that but also chop up a tomato and add basil leaves. Baked ziti is super easy and gives you a tray of pasta for a week. Clam sauce pasta is easy and quick as hell. Also don't forget pizza, I've gotten it so I just pre-make dough balls and pull them out in the morning so I can make a pizza in the afternoon. Way better and way cheaper than any frozen pizza.
