Also pretty grim to think about the situation of the 10 million+ people unemployed, not including the tens (or hundreds?) of thousands who will likewise be out of a job soon since a few states or cities are enacting new restrictions. No stimulus/relief bill in sight, holidays will lead to a further explosion in new cases, with really no attempt to curve the rise in cases other than encouraging people to wear a mask and stay home.
In my own case I'm glad I'm still with my parents for the time being because I'd be fucking homeless without any help right now.
Dunno, I'm not aware how they report data but if it's anything like other states usually numbers seem to be a little lower on Sundays (and Mondays?) but then steadily stay high through the week.
Very close I'm gonna say. Covid Tracking Project has the count at 116K and that might not include the states that haven't reported yet (such as Nebraska, who reports around 7:30/7:45PM CST).
Worldometer reports just over 108K cases in the US today, the number we hit last night just as the site stopped updating for the day. About 3-4 hours to go until it stops counts until tomorrow so we're easily getting >110K today and only to have it worsen for probably the rest of the year.
