They did free concerts and actively organised against Ticketmaster's efforts to suppress that, but yeah the music itself is reasonably trash. Silverchair did their sound better on Frogstomp, and they were still in high school at the time.

  • what kind of editing jobs? my ideapad is reasonably new and can export 1080p re-encodes or clips in shotcut quite quickly, but if I add video filters it slows right down. i have a couple of older thinkpads (gen 2 ryzen + an older i7 model) and they're slower.

keep in mind video editing tools are not that great at utilising discrete gpus on linux generally so in my case its best to select for a good cpu

it overheats in the sense that it gets hot but doesn't throttle or shut down, not a big deal if you use it on a lap desk or other flat surface

I 100% feel this too, my supposition is that it's causally related to blood pressure, as atomoxetine can increase it. I would get emotional whenever I drank alcohol, which also raises it. Not so after going on clonidine. Initially I thought it was like an optional extra to take as needed (it's common and cheap) but now i consider it my primary medication

Thanks! Appetite suppression is a side-effect, desired in my case of comorbid binge-eating disorder.

Clonidine is a common anti-hypertension med also used off label for ADHD. It mildly sedates me and makes me go to bed on time, which is difficult for me while on atomoxetine without it. The slight calming effect lasts with me through the following day.

I started on 18mg daily, currently on 60mg, and even that is apparently not a "full dose"

The ED (and urinary hesitancy) sucks. I've stopped taking it a few times over the past couple years but always eventually went back on it of my own accord.

On those occasions I had just reflected on my general mood during the periods of being on it vs off it and found that I was always generally happier & prepared to deal with life's adversity while on it.

It definitely takes some consistency to get there I think, so I'd recommend sticking with it to just see how it goes after a full course of full doses.

I take clonidine at night too which has been essential for me.

I can't really relate to the brain fog thing tbh, that's how I felt before going on it.

Also I lost about 70lb excess weight while on it without trying.

Besides, phones are incredibly cheap now. I dropped my pixel 7 in a river a few weeks ago so I went to Walmart and asked for the cheapest android burner they had. For $100 it has a 90hz display, snapdragon 680, 5000mAh battery. I don't need any upgrade from this

  • I've had a lot of thinkpads and currently use an ideapad flex 5. I prefer the smaller form factor for a portable machine I take travelling or out to biz meetings etc. The autorotate and touchscreen work great in Debian with gnome-shell out of the box. No pinch-to-zoom but I believe that works on KDE plasma out of the box.

checks notes """"privacy"""" preserving advertising in their browser, which is the exact same thing that brave has got hate for

No it isn't. Brave replaces ads with those that companies have directly paid Brave to advertise. Their privacy-preserving nature is predicated on trusting Brave. Once landed on the advertisers page, there's no system in place to preserve your privacy. Mozilla's implementation sends deindentified data to a 3rd party unrelated to Mozilla. I'm not saying this is good but saying it's exactly the same thing is fundamentally incorrect and misleading.

If you want to boycott Google, you can easily do so while using Firefox. And Mozilla still gets paid, so this doesn't help Google at all (for users that don't want it to)

There's no action to substantiate your 3rd point which hasn't also been retracted.

The rest is conjecture. There is very little reason to introduce potential vulnerabilities to my system by using a Firefox fork when there's nothing really wrong with the upstream releases.

How does Mozilla making Google the default search engine in exchange for Google money help Israel? It helps Mozilla, by giving them an income stream not directly related to advertising.

If anything, using Firefox and switching to an alternative search engine harms Google, because they have to pay Mozilla all the same without getting any benefit in exchange.
